What is a decant?

A decant is a small amount of an authentic fragrance (typically 1 to 15 ml) hand-transferred from an original bottle into a travel spray. It's the cheapest way to properly test a niche perfume before committing to a full bottle.

Why compare by price per ml?

Sticker prices are misleading: sizes differ between stores. Dividing by the millilitre count puts every offer on the same scale. It's the only fair way to compare a 2 ml sample with a 9 ml travel spray.

Do prices include shipping?

No — prices exclude shipping. Shipping depends on your country and the store's thresholds. A small gap can be erased by shipping costs, so check the basket total before ordering.

How fresh is the data?

We refresh every store once a day. Each page shows when data was last updated, and the stats page details freshness per store. Prices can change between refreshes.

How does matching work? Is an EDP the same as an Extrait?

No. We match fragrances across stores by brand and normalised name, and the concentration (EDP, EDT, Extrait, Parfum, Cologne) is kept as part of the identity. Different concentrations are listed as different fragrances.

How do price alerts work?

Subscribe on any fragrance page. We email you when the best price per ml drops by 5% or more, or crosses a threshold you set. Subscription is double opt-in (you must confirm by email), we send at most one alert per fragrance per day, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Do you make money from this?

We may earn a commission on outbound links to stores. It never affects rankings: offers are ordered purely by price per ml. DecantPricer is independent of all stores and brands.

Are decants legitimate?

Decanting from authentic bottles is a well-established practice in the fragrance community (r/fragrance, Basenotes…). We only index specialist decant stores; we cannot verify individual batches, so buy from stores you trust.
